Milan, March 5 2026 - Gridspertise, a technology company owned by Enel and CVC Capital Partners providing smart solutions for the modernization of power grids, announces that the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) has approved its near-term science-based emissions reduction target, confirming that the targets covering greenhouse gas emissions from company operations (Scopes 1 and 2) are consistent with reductions required to keep warming to 1.5°C. This validation marks a significant milestone in the Group’s sustainability strategy and reinforces its long-term commitment to tackling climate change and reducing environmental impact across its entire value chain.
Gridspertise commits to reduce absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions 54.6% by 2033 from a 2023 base year. Gridspertise also commits that 70.0% of its suppliers and customers by emissions covering purchased goods and services and use of sold products, will have science-based targets by 2030.
Through the validation of its targets by SBTi, Gridspertise confirms its determination to contribute concretely to global emissions reduction efforts. Moreover, the Company encourages partners, suppliers, and stakeholders to align with climate science by committing to science-based 1.5°C pathways.
This initiative reflects Gridspertise’s will to advance the structural transformation of energy distribution systems by embedding environmental responsibility into its strategic vision, technological innovation and operational governance. To do so, the company supports Distribution System Operators in accelerating the digitalization of their grids through advanced cloud-edge technologies, thereby contributing to the broader evolution of the energy system. Moreover, committing to science-based targets reflects a clear strategic choice of reducing operational emissions, while engaging the majority of suppliers and customers in the same direction and it requires the systematic integration of decarbonization across Gridspertise’s governance, technology development and operational processes.
