The 8000 series meter is the latest addition to ERALIS Suite, the new integrated offering that unifies and enhances the Gridspertise Group’s portfolio of solutions to manage power grids in a more efficient, resilient and sustainable way.
The new Aidon 8000 Series meter is the market’s most compact three-phase meter, and sets a new benchmark for electricity metering. A unified core design supports both single phase and three-phase variants and it comes with patented innovations which make installation and use of the product safe and efficient.
Beyond comprehensive measurement functionality, the Aidon 8000 Series delivers Smart Grid Intelligence with real-time diagnostics, fault detection, and edge computing capabilities. It supports outage management, demand response, and delivery quality monitoring. New patented features include phase-to-phase voltage measurement, enabling enhanced fault analysis and improved safety. Terminal temperature monitoring detects loose connections to prevent overheating. Integrated load control relays and remote software updates ensure adaptability to future requirements.
The 8000 Series offers multi-technology communication options, including RF, LTE-M, and NB-IoT, with remote-provisioned eSIM for operator-independent connectivity. Installation is fast and safe, supported by visual guides. With intuitive menus, a backlit display, and three-button navigation, the meter ensures user-friendly operation. Its small size, low own consumption, and reduced number of variants make it a sustainable choice designed to deliver long-term value for modern utilities. In addition to the household meter, Aidon is simultaneously introducing CT and CT/VT variants to the market.
Finland’s largest DSO, Caruna, is the lead customer for the Aidon 8000 Series smart meter. The company will begin mass deployment to its 760,000 customers in 2027.
