Aidon, part of the Gridspertise family, marked its 20th anniversary with the launch of a new logo and brand identity at the Energy Vision 2024 event. This exclusive gathering brought together top decision-makers in the Nordic energy industry, showcasing innovations in AI, smart data, and green energy solutions.
The unveiling of the new logo symbolizes a new chapter in Aidon’s history. It highlights the company's connection to Gridspertise Group while representing a step forward in integrating Aidon’s customer-centric and innovative approach with Gridspertise’s expertise in power distribution networks and advanced metering and grid technologies.
When Aidon joined Gridspertise at the end of 2023, Gridspertise’s CEO, Robert Denda, announced the importance of this cooperation: “With this acquisition, we are making significant strides in advancing the Nordics' energy transition. This cooperation increases our presence in one of the world’s most advanced markets for smart grids. Together, we aspire to be a leading innovator in the smart metering sector and will continue to generate new ideas to bring greater intelligence to the grid”.
The partnership has brought two key benefits to Gridspertise. First, Aidon’s deep expertise in Metering-as-a-Service allows Gridspertise to manage not only metering solutions but the entire operational process. Additionally, Aidon opens up new market opportunities, helping introduce Gridspertise’s technologies, such as the Quantum Edge® device—a platform for substation virtualization—to North European utilities, supporting renewable energy integration and the growth of electric mobility.
Since the acquisition, the cooperation between the two companies has increased, as underlined by Aidon’s CEO, Tommi Blomberg: “We have laid a strong foundation for collaboration. We share a vision of becoming a leading innovator in the smart metering domain, and we will continue to generate new ideas to realize our common strategy of enhancing grid intelligence. Great people make great business. By bringing people together, learning from each other, and deciding matters together, we can create commitment to our targets.”
Regarding the new brand identity, Blomberg emphasized that this is a significant step for Aidon: “Embracing a new brand identity is not just about changing a logo; it is about redefining our vision, reigniting our passion, and embarking on a journey of endless possibilities through our cooperation with Gridspertise”.
The Nordic region leads the world in the energy transition, ranking high in renewable energy adoption and boasting one of the highest smart meter penetration rates in Europe, with some countries already adopting second-generation smart meters.
By combining their expertise and innovative solutions, Gridspertise and Aidon are well-positioned to lead the way in grid digitization and renewable energy integration, ensuring a reliable and resilient energy system that benefits not just the Nordics, but beyond.
