Marina Lombardi

Marina Lombardi is the Open Innovation Lead at Gridspertise and the Head of Innovation at Enel Global Infrastructure and Networks.

After joining Enel in 2005, she proceeded to gain extensive experience leading international innovative projects in smart grids, Demand Response, e-mobility and smart cities. In 2016 she was seconded by Enel to the World Economic Forum in Geneva, where she led the Grid Edge Transformation project to design a framework for the evolution of the electricity sector through digitalization, electrification and decentralization. In 2018 she was appointed Head of New Technologies and Innovation at the Network Technologies division of Enel Global Infrastructure and Networks and joined e-Distribuzione as Head of Network Technologies in 2020. She has played a key role in the development of innovative solutions such as the Network Digital Twin® and the Grid Futurability and Flexibility Labs initiatives.

She holds a Master of Science in Telecommunications Engineering and an Executive Master’s in Technology and Innovation Management. She is the author of several papers and publications on smart grids, new technologies and the evolution of the energy sector.
